Okay, have you EVER? And I mean: HAVE YOU EEEEEVVVVVEEEEEEEERRRRRR???? I MEAN - my mind is comPLETELY blown by this guy. How on EARTH can a human being think on so many levels - and SO deeply - and get it all down on paper successfully? Does anyone out there have similar reactions to share?

yes, he was one amazingly multi-talented/intelligent/eclectic/prolific fella!

i first discovered him when i read 'the bridge of san luis rey' at about age 9-10 and have read or seen and enjoyed most [if not all] of his other works, since then...

Yeah - I've seen reference to BTSLR (lately while researching him a little, and on and off all my life). I'll have to check it out. Thanks for responding and acknowleging that you know how smart he is - I thought maybe I was hallucinating :lol: .
