Johnny's Rock

Little Johnny cast a rock into the cool still water,
He watched the ripples as they grew outward from the center,
He thought to ride a ripple until it splashed upon the beach,
In a quest for experiment, to see just what would be.

Like a surfer on a board, leaning face first in the wind,
Gliding towards the shoreline for the whole experience,
He sees the beach upcoming and contemplates its view,
And the lines that etch foundations from the washing that ensues.

He thought of past empires that have crumbled to the ground,
And the droplets of the waters force, from heaven brought them down,
They brought themselves together, to plan a perfect state,
And round about the table laid their plans for their mistakes.

The lessons that the waters bring is it’s not always stable,
And when it’s spilled upon the plans it melts them into fables,
So draft another copy, if you can read, it if you’re able,
Sew it right, hang it up, make it softer, then a sable.

And when he landed on the beach, he saw there, nothing standing,
And looked up to the heavens to the one who’s never ending,
He looked into the glittering sand that sparkeled from the sun,
And knew from its inception, the empire was perfect, when begun.

Masa Avon Nasa - A Measurement From The Scales

My dad wrote this back in 2003. He passed away in 2012 and in honor of the life he lived I had it turned into an e-book. My goal is to help as many people as possible. He was a man who always put everyone before himself. So I decided to make some illustrated versions of the poems as well. If you want to see any of them let me know.

Thank you for reading,
