~Home~

Home is a word,
A funny little word;
With a feeling that is most absurd.

At first inkling thought,
A homey home is sought;
With hearth ablaze and aflame.

Where ne’er a sorrow
Carries to the morrow,
And sugar takes place of the rain.

Yet after that notion
Is a strange commotion,
In that funny little thing called a brain.

“Wait!” it squeaks,
From its neural peaks,
Truth spilling out of its yore.

Home is a place,
Where one makes mistakes,
And troubles are dealt with galore.

Where midst all the troubles,
And angry souls’ bellows,
Is a heart that is anxious and sore.

Yet through all the trials,
And poisonous vials,
Is a sensation to still want it more.

Home is a word,
A funny little word;
With a feeling that is most absurd.
