This sounds like that episode of Spongebob where they came up with "Happy Texas!" Dancing with a square, giant barbed Qs, ten-gallon jugs to wear as a hat, and homemade peas in a can pie...ah good times...good times.

I don't know if this is a "Literary Hot Spot" but I go for a romance writer it is pretty cool.
It is Romance Writers of America's East Texas Chapter.

If anyone knows if there is something similar for sci-fi writers, that would be great. I drag my mother (murder/mystery writer) every month and my sister (who writes all things fantasy/sci-fi) will soon start tagging along. :)
