Ad answering investigation

I answered an ad in Poets & Writers about submissions for an anthology. The only information about the project leader listed was a Gmail address which is her name. I've never dealt with Gmail account users that didn't say who they worked for. I used Google to look up other information and another website lists the link to pw.org for the ad. It's a fairly new website which was made by another Gmail account user. Is there another way to find out the legitimacy of this? Thank you for your advice and cooperation in this situation.

if the anthology in question is to be sold and doesn't pay a decent amount, or at least a free copy, for accepted works, in my book, it's not legit and should be avoided like the plague...

if it's a freebie, it's not going to advance your rep as a poet, so why give away your work for free?

poetry 'anthologies' are one of the biggest rip-off in the writing world... what you've found out already waves big red flags for me... my best advice is to move on and not waste any more time on it...

If it isn't obvious that it's legit, it probably isn't legit. Good places do not make it difficult to learn all about them.

Thank you all for saving me from a bad decision. Found out that the only "payment" is being published. I can tote my personal essays free of charge to a reputable journal that pays monetarily, has good readership, and is put into print and digital than submit them to this hack.
