Hey, gang!
I heard a news report that the government is going to require all electric cars to broadcast some kind of sound so that pedestrians can hear them coming. If that's the case, i want my car to sound like the space ships in the old Jetsons cartoon - that or the theme from Jaws . How about you?

My understanding on that was it's only being considered, nothing concrete yet, and is only for the new(er?) electric type of cars because they're much much quieter than non-electric cars and there are those who are significantly visually impaired that are having difficulties with how quiet they are because they rely on their hearing to help make up for their vision impairment when they're out and about town/running errands for groceries, etc.

Well, my mobile/cellphone is programmed to sound like a phone ringing. I would probably program my car to sound like ...a car. Broom, broom, putt putt putt...

I once tested a Godzilla roar for a ringtone. An actual call came in while I had it set.

I worked for years in a zoo. I asked our computer department to set up some of the computers to make an unusual sound if an error was made. They thought it was cute and appropriate to have the sound be a trumpeting elephant. It actually sounded more like an enraged bull elephant during musth--and the first time the sound was cued at a high volume, there was public nearby-----you should've seen the panic.
