Traveling Writing Space

Postby Gene » Fri Jul 06, 2007 10:26 am

I started my first book in a dedicted office with leather chairs and table top PC. Four years later Im trying to flog my first book from the dining/ writing area of a 30 foot travel trailer. We are now full time RVers but without the luxury of leather, private room and all that goes with it. Now...laptop, "Dummies Guide to Self-publishing" and my faithful latest edition of "Writers Digest".

I understand that one. I'm just starting on writing again and I'm in a 32' fifth-wheel RV. Will post my writing space pic as soon as I'm finished lookin' at everybody else's pics!

For some odd reason, reading your post reminded me of what I have read about Stephen King sitting in his basement with an old typewriter on his knees writing Carrie. Maybe you will become as successful as King while writing in your RV dining room. : )

I wrote for two years on my bunk bed in a big rig, going down the road with UTurn...it was a great adventure, and I wouldn't trade anything for the memories.  There are so many things to do and see, to ponder and muse...sounds like you have an ideal writing space.  :)  Riv

I spent much of the past year touring half the country so I know a bit about writing while travelling. I have a minivan and stayed in motels and hostels across the country so I had no stable writing space that was all mine all the time. It was tough but like Riv says, the memories make it all worth it. I wouldn't change a thing about it.

Have fun writing in your RV!

Jai
