My Writing Nook

This desk is VERY special to me. I was on CraigsList one day and decided to look for a writing desk - before I searched, I told Nick what I was looking for: a desk that had a book-shelf or book-shelves built in, with nooks and crannies for me to put pens/pencils and other supplies. The very first link I clicked on brought me to this desk - that was it! The woman wanted $900 for it. It is an Ethan Allen piece and she still had the original receipt from when she bought it. There was no WAY I could afford $900, but I took a chance and wrote to her, telling her about myself and my writing, and in the end, offering $400.

I received an immediate response with a counter-offer of $500. Nick and I discussed it, decided we would split the funds to buy the desk, and I arranged to pick it up the next day.

Now, it's where I sit to write and where I find a ton of inspiration. When we build our next house which will have a dedicated library/office, we are going to build the room around this desk - it's not going anywhere without me!

Love it!
I am a bit of a carpenter myself and it screams aesthetic coolness!

Are you analogue or digital?
(ie pen or computer or typewriter (which is a hybrib I guess?!?))

So magnificent! My husband and I just moved into a new home, that had a tiny hexagonal room that was really too tiny to do much with, sooooooooo I said, IT'S MY LIBRARY! I put tall book cases all around, (one day I would love to fill it with floor to ceiling built ins) and found a glorious over sized chair at a second hand store that I stuck centered on the back wall. It's turned into my own personal creative nook. I feel like it's my vessel to transport me into my land of dreams when I write. I almost can't write anywhere else now. It feels so cozy, and secluded. Very personal just like this desk you've found. I've stopped believing in coincidence, and do believe everything happens for a reason, this desk was meant for you! Enjoy!
