My creative spot

Postby jmmac13 » Sun Oct 26, 2008 7:01 pm

I have a large desk and geek it out with dual monitors (laptop and LCD) which helps a LOT with my productivity and effiency. I could never work without at least 2 monitors at this point. Even at my downtown office I have 2 monitors. It's a must for me. This is my home office and I use it for more than just writing since I am a business owner full-time, and I work from home occasionally (even though I PREFER to keep work and home separate). This desk gets a lot of use. During the day I open the blinds. I have a bird feeder and flowers out there (when in season).

Add some tunes and a cup of hot wu-long tea and I'm ready to write. :)

And this is me. I don't like pictures but I was playing with my new camera and managed to take this one. I actually like it, so I'm willing to share it with you all. ;)

Nice space. Looks very efficient and user-friendly and clean. :) I wish my office was that clean.

Pretty headshot too. Self-portraits are always so hard to do well.

Looks so peaceful...and neat. Great lighting, btw. And you look so happy :)

You and your writing area are both very beautiful.

I agree completely on the double monitor thing, too! I usually just write on my laptop, but when I get frustrated, I get out of my little funk by moving to my desk (I write on my bed) and hooking in another monitor. It just helps me focus, I suppose. :)

Just curious....why TWO monitors? Do you mean two monitors with one hard drive or two separate COMPUTERS (not monitors)? I must be stuck on some old terminology, because with two monitors you could still only work on one software program, but with two computers (for example, a PC and a laptop), you could browse the Internet on one and work on your writing on the other....although I do that anyway on one.

Just curious.

Nice space. Why do you use two monitors? I don't understand the logic behind it...unless they are hooked up to separate hard drives.
