My own little corner

Postby capestocanyons » Wed Jun 20, 2007 11:46 am

I think the previous owners used the bonus room over the garage as a playroom for their kids. I can tell by the broken hinges on the window seat and the popsicle stain on the carpet.

But with our kids all grown and gone -- I get the space for my office.

And it's full!

Of photos, of books, of files, of trinkets, of memories.

You're looking at only a small corner of it. The rest is perhaps less cluttered, but full just the same.

From here I can look around at favorite pictures taken in various travels -- pictures of sunsets and waterfalls and flowers, of streetscenes, bridges and lighthouses.

From here I finished my newest book, "Keep the kids away from the power tools, Discoveries of an accidental substitute teacher."

And from here I can look out the windows and watch the world go by -- or at least a few birds and the mailman.

A playroom for the kids who once lived here. I guess it's a playroom for me too.

Lots of distractions. Sounds like my kind of place. It's good to have you on the forums!

Louise,

I love the light in your playroom :)

Is your book out on the market? Keep the kids away from the power tools, Discoveries of an accidental substitute teacher."
It sounds like a fun read.

Thanks for asking about the book. I did self-publish it, which means I'm now self-marketing it, which means no one's heard about it! But "Keep the kids away from the power tools" is on Amazon.com, or at my website: capestocanyonspress.com

I was a PTA president in a middle school that was short substitute teachers, so the principal shanghaied me into helping. It was an amazing experience. I was so naive, I learned so much. I hope people who read it learn a lot too.
