Forget about the politics. It doesn't matter if we carry guns or not. If someone is intent of harming other people then that someone will find a way to do it. With all the knowledge we have now about mental illness then why didn't anyone see the warning signs? The men who have commited the shootings in the theator and in the school where connected to others who healthy and stable. Why didn't a friend or a family member see the warning signs. The mental health system is set up to catch psychotic behavior before it escalates to violence. Who is to blame here, the system for being so over-run and badly managed that they neglect volotile people or is it us for ignoring apparent signs of impending violence?
