The Man Who Was Thursday

Postby Scolopendrae » Fri Aug 16, 2013 1:37 am

I finished this book a while back and I liked it very much. I loved the characters and the twist (not sure I should mention it at the risk of spoilers) but there is one thing I don't understand. What the heck was with that ending? SERIOUSLY. When I got to that part of the book I was like "What just, uh...buh?" I feel stupid for being so baffled but I really have no idea.

My mind was blown at the massive shift in tone, it felt like an exciting mystery one page and some kind of crazy acid trip the next. It seems like it was loaded with symbolism that went over my head (along with everything else), so is there something I'm missing? Did he make the ending nonsensical on purpose?

I'd love to hear from other people who have read the book, because I am definitely stumped hahah.
That a tiger prowls along quietly does not mean he is timid.
