@Ostarella:
I've begun the process of setting them up. They're welcome to join up also.

My own general experience is that mods in one location tend to hang out longer, because they have so much time and effort invested in the previous location.

Can't say that I blame them. I WANT these forums to work. I don't want to move to other forums. I've simply lost faith that WD shares my interest.

I would certainly be interested in joining this "new" forum. I would hope, however, that it would be less focused on the mechanics of writing (as WD has been) and far more on the art of storytelling.

I want to give the forums a chance to evolve naturally. Within some sense. I won't have to be so focused on publication as WD is (by design).

Come make of it what you want.
Slowly putting together a "replacement" forum at http://writerswriting.proboards.com.

It's still under construction, but come take a look.

Agree on that, for sure.

I took a peep at the "new forum" and am impressed - very clean, simple, and it seems to cover most genres. I'll certainly join. Just say when it is ready, Rob. :D
Read samples of my Martian series (by Dorothy Piper) and two romances (by Joni Havel) on Smashwords.
Hard copies of all are on Amazon.

There are several that cover that which are more active.
OTOH they are bigger and less like friends talking as here.

Functionally, the forum is ready for signup.

Usability is still being tweaked.

And I'm still adding subforums.

Mostly, it's finishing touches. So feel try to take 'er for a spin, so to speak.

Why not both in order to attract more people to help it succeed.
Some will be interested in multiple topics.

Any forum needs a critical mass.
This one is on the edge and is more likely to fade away than grow.

I have a forum myself, but it's a ghost town.
You ask me what I thought about
Before we were lovers.
The answer is easy.
Before I met you
I didn't have anything to think about.
