I can't even use my long-time username. Brian had to "enable" this one just to let me log in.

Over a month now, and counting.

The last time I saw this, the parent company removed the forum altogether.

I'm not expecting this to get fixed.

Now we're having posting problems too.
You ask me what I thought about
Before we were lovers.
The answer is easy.
Before I met you
I didn't have anything to think about.

Don't use "Quick Reply"; on other posts/replies, click on the "Disable BBCode" (below message box) and it should post. Still can't get urls, colors, italics, etc to work, but at least you can post that way. If you notice some of your other posts have disappeared, going into edit and clicking that box will bring them back as well.

=====

the disable bbc stops color italics etc
that is what bbc makes possible so disabling it kills those things

WD operates this forum. It is, therefore, a service.

The service is not working.

Have we seen the least effort BY WD to acknowledge this?

None.

That right there should tell everyone where this is going.

i am not sure they really operate it

they may own it and keep it funded for a server
but it looks like brian and pls do more of the operation

does anyone know anybody else at WD or f&w that is really involved with it ?

i am thinking they are focused on other things and have forgotten about this site but didnt kill it explicitly

Nope.

Speaking as someone who has worked in customer service for several years in AND out of IT, they don't get that leeway.

They put their name on this. It's theirs. They operate. They don't get to take the credit when it works, then sidestep when things go sour.

And things are very sour right now.

When I go to a restaurant, I don't care whether the restaurant owns or leases the place. I don't care that it's up to the landlord to fix the leaky toilet. I just know I'm not going back.

I contacted Customer Service - at least got a response that they were "re-making everything". Maybe if others contacted CS and let them know how this crap is actually affecting their bottom line, it might - MIGHT - wake them up.
