Welcome back, Lyn. :D Nothing much has been happening on here. What have you been up to?
Read samples of my Martian series (by Dorothy Piper) and two romances (by Joni Havel) on Smashwords.

As you can see, the place is falling apart, slowly, but surely.
You ask me what I thought about
Before we were lovers.
The answer is easy.
Before I met you
I didn't have anything to think about.

I'm a bit more optimistic now. I mean, yeah, the quote and font thing doesn't work, but a couple changes in one's profile and posting will work with little problem - and that's the main thing. Logging in takes a couple extra steps which is annoying but no longer insurmountable. I have some ideas on how to shame TPTB into fixing things, but overall, I think we're at a point where we have a primitive but workable forum. We just have to walk folks through the posting things and then get the participation up again.

I agree, Shadowwalker. To get more participation, we need to chat more about our writing. So here goes - what was the most surprising remark someone made to you after receiving one of your books, always assuming that you gave one away?

My cousin, on receiving the first part of our Family History, exclaimed "Oh! How wonderful! It's a REAL book!" :D

This is a long chapter I'm writing. I was so hyped up to write a new story today that I had to wash my car to calm down.

Washing my cat would be the last thing I'd do to relax! I'd be on the way to the ER!

EDIT: Okay, definitely need to get new glasses. You said car, I read cat. sheesh...

This fall I am going to release a book about a small neighborhood that survives a flu virus that wipes out 2/3 of humanity. A friend who read it said to me - I never realized that I have to go out and get a gun. FYI - he did.
"This needs to be published" is always the best compliment.

I got a broad smile from someone who said I have something very special with one manuscript--but then I considered the source. She is an eternal optimist and probably couldn't give a scathing review if she wanted to. Anyone from the SF/F forum when it was an actual forum will know who I'm talking about.

But then she said it needed to be published. Cha-ching.
And did you? Publish it, I mean. Very nice to see you here, Grinning Bear.
