Wedding Recap!

Quick update: The wedding (between myself and Tammy Trendle–now Tammy Brewer) went very, very well on Friday. It was attended by my baby brother Simon (the stormchaser), my mom, an old friend of the family, and my grandmother. We were married by my grandmother’s boyfriend, who did a wonderful job. As luck–and a little skill on the part of my grandmother’s boyfriend–would have it, I kissed the bride at 8:08 p.m. on 08/08/08.

We picked up our marriage license in Dandridge, Tennessee, around noon and were wed in my grandmother’s backyard in unseasonably nice weather. No heat. No humidity. Wow!

Later in the evening, my other younger brother David (the computer whiz) and his fiancee showed up so that we could have a nice family weekend in the Smokies. Lots of other stuff happened, too, but the main points are that we got married; we had fun; and we bought lots of candy in Gatlinburg. Hope everyone else had a great weekend, too!

Wow! I knew it was coming, but not when! This is exciting. Did your plans to work in Atlanta come through? Congratulations to you both. Hmmmm Tammy Brewer. I’ll have to start looking for that name coming up in the poets’ lists now:-)

Robert, congratulations to you and Tammy. You sure chose a lucky day, but you don’t need the luck. You’ve got love! Much happiness for you both in the future.

A hearty congratulations, Robert. We also had a small wedding, and I loved the intimate setting of it all. Here is hoping you have many anniversaries to celebrate – along with the yearly, you will now have to do something special at 9:09 on 9/09/09, 10:10 on 10/10/10… you’ve really set yourself up for a lot of celebrations!

Congratulations, Robert and Amy. In October my hubby and I will have been married for thirty-six years. On each anniversary we spend a day together somewhere. It is a great way to celebrate. One our thirtieth we went to Arizona which was great fun.

I wish for the two of you some times of just being together by yourselves. Children, jobs, and even poetry can become taskmasters.

I hope your marraige one day gets to the point where when someone asks you how long you’ve been married, without any hesitation, you’ll reply, "We’ve always been together. God made her for me and me for her."

That’s the way I feel about my marriage.

Remember also, the perfect marriage is 3: one man, one woman, and one God.

Felicitations, Robert. May you one day celebrate your 29th anniversary, as my husband and I did recently.

We have a friend who owns a cabin at the lake in Dandridge, and just yesterday we drove past the exit on our way home from a convention. Friday we passed a little too early to coincide with the time of your vows! But still, small world.

Hey congratulations Robert, I wish you and Tammy the very best. Time to start thinking about raising a family. Hey, just kidding, I was told that by too many friends, when I got married. When the time is right you will both know it. But, kids can be great fun, or a pain in the you know what. hahhaah
    A little teacher humor.

    The very best.

PS I am glad you tied the knot before you read my latest. 🙂

You picked a great weekend. I am in northern Alabama and the weekend was wonderful. My new husband and I went hiking around Lake Guntersville.

I am so happy for you both and glad things were beautiful and memorable on your special day. 8:08on 08/08/08? I guess all aniversarys ending in 8 will big your big ones!

Yes, at least for me, Tyger, the 3rd time was the charm. Hopefully, for him the second time was!!

Congratulations, I hope you are very happy together. I’m always glad when couples have the courage to marry.
I tried it twice and now I’m back to square one. But there is hope. They say three times is the charm…

    I wish you
    luck in everything you do
    time for one another too
and be your love forever true
