2011 November PAD Chapbook Challenge: Update

Happy Groundhog Day!

I was hoping to have the results of the most recent chapbook challenge ready for everyone today, but it’s not going to happen. Instead, the new announcement date has been set for March 10!

By that date, I’ll have tied up some major tasks related to the Writer’s Market and Poet’s Market books, in addition to speaking at AWP in Chicago. And with the 5th annual April PAD Challenge just around the corner, there’s no way I’ll chance extending beyond the 10th.

If you are bummed over the results not being ready today, I totally understand and apologize, but I’m sure there will be plenty to celebrate about a month from now.

I am not bummed out. It gives me one more month to hold out hope, then to think about all the poets whose great work I read here, and then to think about all the similarly great poets I don’t even know about because they didn’t post here. Rinse, lather, repeat. 🙂

Hello, Robert. What day are you speaking at AWP? I’d been thinking about attending one of the days since I live right here in Chicago. If so, it would help me choose the day.

Reading all those poems has to be so similar to grading college writing and literature papers! To that I can relate!

Oh! It’s nearly six o’ clock here and I just realized what day it is (groundhog day), and it occurred to me about your projected date for the challenge results. So here I am checking in. 🙂 I so appreciate all the lil’ seperate universes you’re involved in! Cool to be in one of them…perfectly happy to wait and see about the challenge! Have a great month with all of your endeavors and your sweet family! ~smiles

Hey, Busy Man. Thank you for the update, and for all you do. Totally understandable. Since I always know you make your family a major priority, it makes me smile when your professional world needs to wait (as a Momma/Writer…AND as the wife and parenting partner in crime of a busy creative soul who also makes his family the priority in his life.) Thank you!
