2017 approaches fast, and that means another busy season of writers conferences is at your door.
If you want to get great instruction on publishing and also pitch your work to agents who are building their client list, attend a writers conference in 2017. Let me share some of them that will have literary agents in attendance, as well as a Writer’s Digest editor/staffer in attendance:
April 8, 2017: “Get Published” Writing Conference of Philadelphia in Philadelphia. Come to downtown Philly and meet lots of agents who will be taking pitches and meeting one-on-one with writers. This event has three tracks of classes designed to teach you all about the craft & business of publishing.
April 22, 2017: Kentucky Writing Workshop in Louisville. Who says there aren’t great writing events happening in the Midsouth? This event will have a half dozen literary agents meeting with writers and taking pitches. Hear sessions on the State of the Publishing in 2017, How to Get a Literary Agent, 25 Things You Need to Know Before You Get Published, and more.
May 6, 2017: The Writing Workshop of Seattle in Seattle. Just when the weather starts to get amazing in Seattle, enjoy this one-day writers conference that features lots of agents and published authors showing you the ropes. Plus, you can watch literary agents offer feedback on anonymous first pages read out loud.
July 22, 2017: Tennessee Writers Conference in Nashville. This writers conference keeps getting bigger every year, with 15 or so literary agents expected to attend this year. Plus, hear from successful editors, agents, and published authors with three different tracks of instructional classes at all times.
Like planning ahead? I have to also throw out the dates of the 2017 Writer’s Digest Conference in NYC: August 18-20, 2017. We had 800 attendees (and 64 attending literary agents) last year and the event was an amazing smash. Come join us in 2017.
