2013 Writer’s Digest Conference: Some Pictures

The 2013 Writer’s Digest Conference in NYC was this past weekend, April 5–7, 2013, and everything was a blast. The sessions were well received, the attendees were nice, the big pitch slam was smooth, and everyone seemed to have a good time.

Here are some pictures from the event to check out. I assume we will be having our event in April again in 2014. Join us! Or if you can’t wait that long, we will be having a west coast conference, Sept. 27–29, 2013 in Hollywood.

(See a list of writers conferences where agents will be.)

Four literary agents answer questions on our “Ask the Agents” panel. From near to far: Jennifer De Chiara, Jessica Regel, Gina Panettieri, and Joanna Volpe.

The pitch slam at the conference. Agents against the walls, and the lines of writers. It went very smoothly this year.

I got a chance to play piano for some attendees and staff following our cocktail hour on Saturday night. I seem to remember playing pretty poorly (thank you, beer), but we did have a nice chorus or two of “Hallelujah” at the end, which was nice.\

Random picture. I got to see the Knicks play on Friday night and halftime featured an honoring of their 1973 championship team. So on the court in this photo were Earl Monroe, Bill Bradley, Walt Frazier, Phil Jackson, and more. Very cool.

I got to attend a taping of the David Letterman show with coworker Zac Petit. I actually had a conversation with Letterman right before the show started. (It’s a long story–best if you befriend me on Facebook to read the whole (fun) tale.)
