I received an email with a “prompt” for this category. I wanted to know if the 4000 word count included it and if the “prompt” is the opening to my writing.

Looking at the previous post, I am now wondering it this prompt is correct?

I wanted to know what one does if one doesn’t have a master card or visa. I am from Bangladesh. So, umm, should I email a check to the above address?

  4. tdebord says:

You may mail a check to the above address. Good luck.

I would like to inquire as to what the difference is between these genre competitions and the WD 7th Annual Popular Fiction awards. Those awards were advertised inside the back cover of the May/June 2011 issue, listing a deadline of October 1, 2011. I can find no reference to them, except prior years’ iterations, on this website. The deadlines for most of these genre competitions are different.

  6. writesuccess says:

How many words for this story?

  7. writesuccess says:

Never mind. Found it in “Frequently Asked Questions.”

  8. BrendaFoster says:

What exectly is the wordcount for this Thriller contest?

  9. MJ FRANK says:

Today’s the last day before the deadline but the website refused to debit my VISA card after I submitted my entry. Writer’s Digest may wish to upgrade the submission process so that payment can go through without problems. Now, it seems my work won’t be considered in the competition! Is it possible that entries like mine will be considered & payment made subsequently? I doubt!
