101 Best Sites

Writer's Digest Best Websites of 2007

By Brian A. Klems

There are thousands of websites devoted to writers and the writing profession. Some are extremely helpful, but others are about as useful as a broken pencil. And, with your writing time already stretched to its limits, you don't have time to weed through all these sites to find what you need.

So why waste time narrowing down the sites when we've already done the hard work for you?

Here's our ninth annual listing of the 101 best websites for writers. We sifted through hundreds of sites and chose the 101 most valuable. This year, we've added two brand-new categories—Agent Blogs and Protect Yourself—and have expanded the list into nine sections: Agent Blogs, Challenges/Creativity, General Resources, Writing Communities, Publishing Resources, Protect Yourself, Genre/Niche and Just for Fun.

After you check these sites out, send your comments and nominations for next year's list to writersdig@fwpubs.com with "101 Websites" as the subject.

You can also check out the Writer's Digest family of sites.
